MEETING MINUTES — SATURDAY June 18th, 2005 at 12pm
Well, once again we met at Erd’s and once again we were not disappointed. Erd is quite the host. Lunch was a treat for the palate and then there was dessert. This time Erd amazed us with some drinks the likes of which would earn him a degree from any bartending school. But don’t take my word for it, just check out some of the pictures in the “Photo Album” for the meeting.
After pen-trading/selling that commenced at noon, followed by an excellent lunch. President Eric Fonville opened the business portion of the meeting at 2:20 p.m.
1. The MPC Website
- Website has been relocated to a new host provider (NetFirms), updated, and rebuilt. It even has a “Pens For Sale” page where members can list the pens that they have for sale with pictures.
- Website costs are now only $60 per year plus $9 per year for a domain name. This is about $100 cheaper than previous hosting company.
- Need ideas for graphics to use on the website.
2. Post-It Pads
- Post It notepads are ready and will be distributed. 1000 were produced.
- 25% of them were sent to Pendemonium for distribution to customers in MI and neighboring states.
- Members were asked to leave behind a Post It note pad at various venues, e.g. libraries, supermarket boards, etc.
3. Pen Show Postcards
- 2-sided postcards about our show have been printed at an unbelievably low price of $88 for 1000, delivered. These will be sent to our show mailing list.
